Overview

Visen is a career intelligence platform that helps job seekers improve their resumes and practice interviews with personalized AI feedback. It treats career prep as an ongoing workflow rather than a one-off task before each application.

The Problem

Most AI-assisted resume tools return advice that could apply to anyone. They catch formatting issues or suggest generic action verbs without understanding what the candidate is actually trying to communicate. Interview prep tools tend toward fixed question banks with no adaptation to the candidate's real background.

Approach

Visen uses the user's resume content as live context for both improvement suggestions and interview practice. Feedback references the candidate's specific experience — the roles they've held, the technologies they've worked with, the outcomes they've described — rather than applying template advice on top of a document it hasn't actually read.

Technical Decisions

Built with React 19 and TypeScript, using Puter.js for local state and file handling. The AI layer handles both resume analysis (flagging weak phrasing, missing impact statements, formatting inconsistencies) and interview simulation (generating questions derived from the resume and evaluating answers in context).
