Seven weeks ago I started Stack Universe as a side project with one question I could not get out of my head. GitHub profiles are boring. What if all that data looked like something alive?

Today Phase 7 shipped and I think it is the best thing I have built so far.

What it is

Stack Universe turns any GitHub username into a unique 3D solar system. Your repos are planets. Commit messages float on shooting stars. Your CI/CD runs are live space weather | failing builds crack your planets, successful streaks build golden auras that shatter when you break them. Every developer gets a permanent URL as their coordinate in the multiverse.

Seven phases later it also has a flyable spaceship you can use to explore other developers' universes, an AI that roasts your repos and assigns you a developer personality, multiplayer cursor spaceships when two people view the same universe simultaneously, and procedural ambient music generated from your language distribution.

Phase 7 adds the analytics dashboard.

What the dashboard shows

Click ANALYTICS in the HUD and a full screen panel opens with six tabs.

Overview shows your universe score as a gold arc gauge with the distance tier underneath it, your system health as a cyan gauge from 0 to 100, and a stacked bar breaking down exactly how your score was calculated — stars contribution, repos contribution, languages contribution, account age contribution — with both percentages and actual point values. That breakdown is the thing I am most proud of. For the first time you can see exactly why your score is what it is.

Repos shows a horizontal bar chart per repo sorted by health score, color coded matching planet colors. Clicking a repo pulses that planet in the solar system behind the panel so the two views feel connected. Activity shows a 12 month area chart. Languages shows a donut chart with trend arrows. CI/CD shows build history bars with pass rates. Growth shows cumulative star history with spike annotations.

PDF export and a shareable public analytics link round it out | send it to a recruiter or manager who needs the data without needing to understand solar systems.

What I learned building this

I am still learning and improving with every phase I ship. Seven phases has taught me React Three Fiber, procedural 3D generation, Supabase Realtime, Tone.js audio, Groq prompt engineering, Recharts, and more things than I can list here. None of these were things I knew deeply before this project.

The most valuable thing was not technical. A user left a comment early on that became the entire product philosophy:

Same data, but way more engaging when it talks back.

That one sentence explains the whole product better than anything I have written. GitHub has always had the data. Stack Universe just gives it a voice, a world, and now a professional face.

Where it goes next

Phase 8 is the combat system | universe battles where your GitHub stats become weapons. Stars fire as cannons, commit streak is your damage multiplier, followers are your shield rating. Phase 9 is the Pro tier launch via Lemon Squeezy.

The roadmap is long and I am building it one phase at a time as a side project. Every piece of feedback has directly shaped what gets built next. If you want to see yours | stackuniverse and click ANALYTICS.
